What is Colon Hydrotherapy?
Colon hydrotherapy is a safe, gentle, water-based procedure that supports the body's natural process of elimination. At WaterWays Healing, every session is performed by an I-ACT Certified Colon Hydrotherapist using a HydroSan FDA-registered device and machine-specific water filtration system in a private, comfortable setting.
During a session, temperature-controlled, filtered water is introduced into the colon through a small, sterile, single-use rectal speculum. The water flows in and out in a slow, controlled manner while waste is released through a closed system (everything is contained), making the experience clean, discreet, and comfortable for most clients.
Colon hydrotherapy is intended to support the body's natural elimination process and may be incorporated into a broader wellness routine for individuals pursuing greater digestive health and relief from symptoms related to digestive discomfort, such as constipation.
Potential Benefits
According to the International Association for Colon Hydrotherapy (I-ACT), colon hydrotherapy may help:
Support hydration of the colon
Promote the loosening and elimination of waste from the colon
Assist with occasional constipation
Encourage the colon's natural peristaltic activity (the gentle muscular contractions that move waste through the digestive tract)
Every person's experience is as unique as they are, and colon hydrotherapy is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent disease. We see it as an opportunity to support your body's natural processes while creating space to slow down, reconnect, and listen.
While colon hydrotherapy is generally considered a safe and gentle procedure, there are certain medications and medical conditions that are considered contraindications and might mean that colon hydrotherapy isn't a good fit for you. Potential contraindications will be explored during our initial consultation and revisited at the time of your appointment.
